haven is heavenly

this scarf rocks. it’s long and cozy and charcoal grey (love the rowan cocoon) and relatively non-itchy (merino and kid mohair). I’m about 3/4 of the way through – please note – this sucker is going to be long – the pattern says 80 inches, and it will probably stretch to longer. my warm fuzzies for this scarf are enhanced by the positive outcome of a knitting emergency….

true story: i took the scarf-in-progress, needles, and wool on our vacation in the hinterlands. forgot the pattern (lace – 12-row-repeat). panicked. contemplated committing hari-kiri with my bamboo sticks. on dec 27, emailed kim hargreaves with my plight. about 15 minutes later, received reply with full instructions for scarf. my vacation was saved! isn’t that nice?
